I have always loved Back to School shopping and fall. Something about the change in the air, the crisp colorful leaves, and the holidays coming make me excited for plaids, soft sweaters and autumn colors. It’s also that time of year when I try to add a few cool new pieces to my wardrobe, so I am excited to be part of Trina Turk’s fall shopping party next Wednesday, October 24, 10-1 in Burlingame. I especially love the fall event which comes at the perfect time for holidays and other special celebrations- and cooler weather. Yay!
I am looking forward to seeing some of you there. Suzanne Bell, my partner in this, is also a Bay Area native and a super stylist- check out her blog- Ask Suzanne Bell. Together we will help you shop and pull together looks for you and find what looks great, plus you’ll get 20% off on your purchase and the boutique will have light nibbles and some drinks while you shop. It’s always a lot of fun for everyone.
Last week Suzanne and I pre-shopped the new collection and played dress up. We spent almost 3 hours there and had a blast finding so many chic things. Below are our most loved of this collection. I am always proud to collaborate with Trina Turk as she’s a California designer, a Northern Cal native gal like Suzanne and I, and many of her clothes are made in California. Her clothes are beautifully constructed, with elegant details and they are the kind of pieces you can collect over the years and go back to year after year and still adore. I have collected a few treasures each year and still wear all of them. Come and see the clothes in person if you can and bring a friend and have lunch on Burlingame Avenue, one of my favorite places. Now on with the show…
Wraps and ponchos are perfect for California fall weather and we loved the two on the top blog pic, which we wore wrapped, but you can wear them down as ponchos. So versatile and cozy.
Suzanne’s was a beautiful soft deep blue and I choose the plaid with my khaki. I’m ready for my cameo on Outlander now. (Is anyone else obsessed with that show?)
Speaking of plaid let’s go with that theme for a minute…
Velvets..
Leopard in velvet.. This is the cutest soft top..
This look is so gorgeous on Suze!!
Let’s take a break for accessories shall we? As usual Trina has some very chic bits to add to your wardrobe like jewels from Kenneth Jay Lane, fab necklaces, cocktail rings, shoulder duster earrings and a terrific collection of cool shoes and clutches. We loved them all!
There was a wonderful green that looked fantastic on everyone in a lot of standout pieces like this fun dress..
A very mod winter white was also part of this collection which evoked Courreges from the 60’s. How cool is the full white pantsuit with a big jetliner necklace?
We split the look here -I tried the top with the plaid and Suzanne looked fab in the pants and this stripe blouse and petal sleeved jacket.
Other standouts…so many to mention, but a few others we particularly loved…
This fringe dress!
This gorgeous plaid lined coat in black.
I bought this in bone color last year and it’s one of my favorite things.
Other fun.. This lilac wrap.
Brocade!
This dress is even more gorgeous in person. If a dress is too much how about a brocade top? This and some great earrings would be super for a holiday gathering.
Or pants? Love it with one of their fun heart sweaters in gold and black.
Trina has great pant options, long, flared, cropped, jumpsuits – you name it they have a pant to flatter everyone’s body type. Suzanne is tall and looks great in all of them like these cute flared crop with one of Trina’s wrap tops. She’s holding another smaller plaid trouser which is so beautiful with sweaters.
The jacket, on Suzanne looked great too. I bought a similar one last year from Trina last fall and wear it a ton.
Stripes and florals are big and in deep rich tones for fall like this blouse I am crazy about. Yes with the plaid is a the look right now. A lot of pattern mixing in fall trends you may have noticed.
I love this striped frock as it is one of her uber comfy soft dresses that flatter, and skim rather than cling…
Don’t forget event dresses are always to be found at Trina. I LOVE this black number with it’s gauzy shell…One of many!
Beautiful sweaters, coats, boots and more.
Resort essentials like swimsuits and pretty coverups, (below) totes and sunglasses are at Trina year round!
So will we see you? Please stop by and say hi and see what this lovely boutique is all about. If you can’t get there on the event day you can pre-shop and have them hold it- or call the store and mention our event. They will honor the discount and can send you something too.
Stop by the Trina Turk boutique when your in Burlingame as it’s really special. If you can’t get to a shop visit her website to purchase these pieces online.

THE LEOPARD AND THE PLAID IS A NEGATIVE!
THE VELVET PINK ON YOU IS A YES and JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING ELSE!!!!!!!!!
LOOKS LIKE YOU HAD A BALL!

Contessa, funny I had another person comment that they loved that. What about plaid and floral??? I do love the velvet dress and it feels like butter on! I think you would approve of the beautiful velvet wraps and robes and flowy pants they have in store right now. Can you make it? We could do lunch after with Suz.. xo
What fun! I adore Susan Bell and enjoy seeing the two of you together . . . great pairing! I love everything you two tried on, but that fringe dress is exceptional! When I make my triumphant return to the Bay Area I look forward to joining you for one of these great shopping events! How’s your house coming along?
Thanks so much Juliet. We had a lot of fun. You would look pretty in that fringe dress. I hope you can make it to one of these Trina events. they are so much fun.xx
