Happy October! Today just a quick post to share a few good finds I’ve had on my radar and mentioned on the gram in the past week. I haven’t done one of these for a while, so I thought I’d cull everything together in one crazy post!

So far I’ve only filled my Centerpiece Bowl from Crate & Barrel with gourds and little pumpkins on the island. Last year I had these guys in another wooden bowl.. I guess I sort of go with a similar theme, wooden containers always!
I’m getting excited for fall clothes and just bought this shirtdress at J.Crew. It’s now on sale which I missed. I love how they styled it here.. ( hard to see, but it has pin tucks.) I’ll report back when I receive it… I also bought this necklace…
In the interim, these corduroy shorts by Carve have been my go-to. Love them for fall days with sweaters and sweatshirts. I like the mid-rise and 4 inch inseam. They have a retro vibe and comfort I really love. I bought mine at REI, but I don’t see them there anymore, but they can also be found here at Amazon.
There are so many pretty colors I may get another pair. I like the thyme and tan and cinnamon shades. You can also buy them here at Title Nine where they also come in a longer 10 inch inseam.
I wore the shorts for day all over Tahoe last weekend. It was so nice to be back there again after two months of scary fires and smoky weather. It’s a beautiful time to go to Tahoe and they need the tourists badly. We did some bike rides and picnics and just enjoyed fall walks.

I wore the shorts with my Frame scalloped black sweatshirt – one of my favorite things.
Frame has a beautiful fall collection this year. Everything is chic, casual, and modern. The whole collection here. I want to add a few more pieces to my wardrobe. They are a bit more pricey, but beautifully made and classics with a twist.

While I was in Tahoe, I found these cute mugs for the cabin. I adore the Swiss Cross pattern for mountain homes and these mugs were at a shop in Truckee and , but can also be bought here.

Looking for them online, I found this cozy Swiss Cross throw I will get for the bottom of the guy’s beds at the cabin.. or maybe here at home. They are highly rated and come in a grey too. It’s a great look folded on a the end of a bed or on the arm of a couch.

Amazon does SOMETIMES have good things and occasionally I find stuff. Two other things I’ve loved from there lately..
One is these wooden beads that popped up when I was buying some floor cleaner! They looked nice and so I figured why not? They are surprisingly even cuter in person and I have them on a book stack in the media room..

My other new obsession from Amazon is this soap called Hand Ritual. Made in the CALIFORNIA! The bottles look great, smells light and lovely and my hands feel soft. My designer Debbie who did the space planning for the home brought the soap over when she took photos of the house and I was hooked. It’s also vegan, plant based and cruelty free. Looks cool in the guy’s bathroom..

I finally bought this book – Danielle Rollin’s A Home for All Seasons. I was looking for a book to inspire me with the holidays coming and this is a great one. Clearly most of us don’t have the funds she does to entertain, but I am finding the way she lives- the beautiful organization of the pantry and linen closet, along with the beautiful desk and stationery and pens something we could all do in our own way. Why not make every space lovely? This gets me motivated to make my house just as organized and pretty.

Don’t forget if you have been waiting on any Serena & Lily purchases they are having their big fall sale now, until October 5th. They are having 20% off most everything. I am buying a few more of their gorgeous towels. I have loved the softness, and quality so much! Two years later they are still soft and not fraying one bit. Use the code NEWSEASON until October 5th.
Have you all been watching more shows? Max and I have been getting into more since fall has come. We broke down and got Apple TV and it’s been worth it for Ted Lasso alone. That show has to be the most uplifting program I’ve ever watched – and who doesn’t need that now? I’m just trying to figure out how to get my dad to be able to watch it also. The Morning Show we have started and while not as upbeat, it’s full of good acting and fab homes and the wardrobes of Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon which I’m loving.
Remember this sweater from my jean posts? Well Mary Ann from Classic Casual Home just bought it in petite and she looks great in it with boots. I think it’s appealing with the flowers. It’s rare to see a nice cashmere sweater with a good print. A few other friends have bought it too. I just wanted to share cute Mary Ann’s way of wearing it. She bought it in a petite and it comes in plus and regular too.
I am sorry I’ve been slow posting the last month. I have been easing into fall, but have two posts coming in the next weeks- a cozy home collaboration and talking about leather- or faux leather, for Signature Style so stay tuned.
Have a beautiful autumn weekend !

Morning Kim! Fall is also arriving here in the north east, my absolute favorite time of year. I am slowly adding some fall touches! Still in the 70’s here, so will wait to change slipcovers. We are also lovin Ted Lasso ❤️. Morning Show has me hooked, Jennifer Anniston make me want to buy a teddy bear coat! Going to try your soap. I love the towels you showed in the guys bathroom, can I find them? Thanks for sharing abit of autumn 🍂 inspiration. Have a great weekend 🍂🙋🏼♀️
HI Robin! Happy Fall. I bet it is just gorgeous there! Aren’t those shows great? I know love all Jennifer Aniston’s coats. I hope you’ll love the soap. The guys towels I got a few years back. Forgot the source. I’ll see if I can find them and share. Have a wonderful weekend! xo
What a great post, Kim!! We are watching Ted Lasso and The Morning show too. I am going to buy that soap!!
Hi Mary Ann.. Let me know what you think of the soap. I really loved it. xx
Well, Kim, this was such a nice post!
I want to get the book for myself and for gifts.
Loving the corduroy shorts as it is warm here through November. Sadly the scalloped sweatshirt is sold out.
Hi Mary Ellen, I really enjoyed the book. She just seems like an authentic and real person. Darn I knew the sweatshirt was sold out. Amazon has a dupe of it, but it looks pretty flimsy…https://rstyle.me/+P06Oj520hB_Qw0q7Ace5CA
Funny! I have that black Swiss blanket ! I love it! I also have those beads with the tassels but I hand make them, even the tassels!
Judy so funny! They are a great find and seem really nice quality! I love that you handmade the necklaces. I wish we had that bead shop in town still. Though I guess they can be ordered and I saw Etsy has a lot of beads if someone is creative like you. xx
Hi Kim! Such a lovely post! I feel
I’m sounding more than a little unoriginal when I say , I love everything here …. but honestly I do! Definitely too cold here now for the shorts but perfect for your Fall weather ( plus they’re so cute) and that scalloped edge sweatshirt! 💕
The Swiss Cross mugs and throw are just perfect for Autumn and Winter. They’ll look so at home in your cabin but good for anywhere, I think.
Looking forward to seeing more of the shirt dress and the necklace… gorgeous!
The book looks like a great buy too and I’m going to look out for the tv programmes. I love pretty much anything with Jennifer and Reece in, so I imagine I’ll definitely enjoy watching both of them together!
Thanks again for all these great suggestions Kim. Hope you’re having a great weekend. xxx
Hi Rosemary! Thank you. I just got the shirt dress and it’s pretty cute. Will share it on another post! I don’t know if you can get Apple Tv in the U.K., but it’s so worth it for these two shows. Hope you are having a good week! xo
Those beads 🤍🤍🤍 they are definitely my style! Love them! And so many other gorgeous tips! Thanks 🙏🏻
Sarah thanks! I thought the beads were a pretty find too. xo
What a nice balance of topics. I will not be investigating the shorts but the towels look worth it. The necklace is from JCrew? It reminds me of The Bean that was designed, I think, by Paloma Picasso for Tiffany. I’m guessing it looks like more than it cost! Good find!
Wren I thought it looked an awful lot like the bean also.. It’s Elsa Peretti design I think. They are beautiful pieces. The J Crew one finally came and I like it thought the skiver to be honest is a bit bright. Still a cute necklace.
I do like the shorts and the Loire gourds and pumpkins. We’re not really into fall decor here so I usually don’t bother with much. The weather is still quite warm during the day but the nights are finally feeling like autumn. We had a terrific storm last night and the rain has cleaned all our plants. Hope you have a good week. I seem to have lost my writing mojo 🙁 Can’t seem to find anything interesting to write about.
Lorna, I am so jealous with the rain! We got a few sprinkles all summer and could use a good cleaning! Funny how we are into fall decor here and not so much other places. I think it has to do with harvest and also the fact that we are held back from decorating for the holidays until Thanksgiving, which most other countries don’t have. I hear you about the writing block. I get that too. Don’t worry when the time is write you will. xx
Love all these fun things. Your corduroy shorts and scalloped top are adorable. I’ve been perusing the Serena & Lily sale and considering their flannel sheets … funny since its such a warm weekend. I ordered the Ritual hand wash … and A Home For All Seasons. It’s impossible to resist a decor book! So glad you were able to get back to your sweet cabin. Jim figured out how to get Apple TV onto our actual TV screen. Can’t wait to start Ted Lasso and I’m counting the days to season two of The Morning Show. Have a great week! xo
Juliet I hope you like the soap and the book. I know I need another house for my books! I think you will enjoy the shows. xo
Love the beads, great find! The book looks beautiful and inspiring and the soap sounds lovely!
Thanks Ginger! xx
Hi Kim,
Once again you got me checking out more things to collect. The shorts especially are so cute but sadly all sold out in my size. I will look at the book and decide if my shelves can hold one more! The mugs and throw look great, very modern and a perfect fit for your cabin. Glad your incorporating your own taste and style into that sweet place! I love a good cashmere sweater but I want to feel it before I buy. It looks very pretty on you.
Glad you were able to get back up to the mountains. So so gorgeous this time of the year up there.
Xo Heidi
Heidi, I think they carry these shorts all the time, so maybe check back.Thank you about the mugs and the throw. Kind of fun getting the cabin the way I want it! xi
