Golden Globes 2013 red carpet recap

Here’s bit of fashion junk food to get you through Friday.. I can’t resist hashing over red carpet fashions can you? The Golden Globes are one of my favorites to watch. Despite a crazy week of school activities I’m getting this out to you, albeit a day late and a bit thrown together, ( I am having serious issues with my fonts staying uniform) but let’s at it.. 

Sally Field looked beautiful. Love that she still looks like herself and not a scary plumped up version. 

Carla Gugino was fabulous. She shows how to dress over 40 that’s neither frumpy nor too revealing.

Julianne Moore in Tom Ford…Gold and black accessories- swoon!

Jennifer Lawrence’s gown embodied old school Dior. I liked that it was different. Strapless is really getting to become a bore…Everyone looks like they are off to the prom. This had a little edge.

 Jessica Chastain got mixed reviews, but I loved the old Hollywood glamour of this and her hair. Think Katherine Hepburn folks. She took a chance and the icy blue was gorgeous with her coloring.

Marion Cotillard. The color alone makes me love this modern dress. The straight hair back just worked with this so well.  

How great was this look on Kate Hudson? It was very California golden girl which is so her.

Loved Jessica Alba’s dress color. It’s a lot with the hair and huge necklace..Maybe her hair back or a simpler jewelry would have looked less expected more modern.

 George and Stacey Keibler.. She looked terrific. I like her natural look.  He just gets better with age. Damn men!

I don’t care what anyone says about her, I adore Helena Bonham Carter’s strict adherence to her crazy look. The addition of the Lulu Guinness lip clutch was perfect!

Amanda Seyfried was lovely and natural, if a bit bland. I would have thought a bright lip or a pop of color would prevent her from being a washout here.

Helen Mirren was looking totally hot and in amazing shape.

Rachel Weisz no doubt had the best date. The jury is out on this dress… Not sure I’m loving it and it was a bit long. And Mr Craig, please, this isn’t a Bond movie.

I like that Nicole Ritchey went blue.

Taylor Swift’s Donna Karan gown was stunning. The color was the prettiest plum.  I’m not so sure about… Julianna Margulies what can I say? It had a very bare back, but from the front and with the severe hair not so great.

Lena Dunham looks stuck in a bad bridesmaid dress. The unfortunate reality about tattoos is that they just don’t ever look nice with dressy clothes.  Eva Longoria just looks too artificial and this whole ensemble just makes her look old….and dare I say desperate? 😛 Wow, I don’t know what to say about this. All too much really. I think J.Lo always nails it when she goes sleek. So not.

Alyssa Milano was possibly trying to channel the bright colors of Leslie Mann’s citrus and turquoise look from last Oscars, but this was not flattering. I give her points for a cool clutch though. Well, let’s end on an upbeat note and take a glance at the best beauty..

Claire Danes had a bit more makeup on and I liked that she went a bit sexy after just having given birth one month ago.

Emily Blunt’s soft makeup was flawless.
