The Friday before Thanksgiving I had the pleasure to tour the lovely homes on the Summit League Home for the Holidays 2014 house tour. Since the homes were Christmas themed and holiday decor, I thought I’d share with you after Thanksgiving.
It was my first time doing this tour and it did not disappoint! Three homes were featured, and the beneficiaries were the Child Advocates of Silicon Valley Transitioning Teen program, which helps kids who are aging out of the foster care system become independent and successful. It is a great cause and so many wonderful people worked to make this tour something special.
I’m showing just a few of the best displays and rooms.
This lovely and natural hallway vignette was done by Scarlett Fiona Reed of Saffron & Genevieve as was the entry below. I immediately was in love with the greens, the books and old chests which were gorgeous.

This pretty home may look familiar to readers, as it belongs to my friend Leasa, who I featured on here last Christmas with her Christmas in Paris lunch and an Easter lunch as well. Leasa is a local mom and friend who entertains beautifully and generously offered her home to be opened for the tour. It was interesting to see what the designers did in each room, as I already loved her home decor.
In her kitchen by Studio Ziffer, they placed these large mercury glass vases with manzanita branches. A big swath of black paper makes a fun writing surface for a party on her island.
The festive dining room was styled by Julie Dal Porto of J Home, one of my very favorite shops in in Los Gatos. Located on West Main Street, it’s always inspiring and I want to buy everything!
I especially liked this mix of big vases, lacy votives, golds, wicker and mossy greens.
In Leasa’s guest room, Karen Giordano, of Liv La Vie, another beautiful Los Gatos shop, did a Chanel themed black and white room. Karen curates the most lovely collection of clothes and finds and you have to pop in if you are in Los Gatos.
What a perfect idea to mix the checks and Chanel!
The women crowded into here and of course the Chanel feather tree was a big hit!
A fun holiday look was filling Leasa’s gorgeous tub with glass and mercury ornaments, to evoke a bubble bath. How cute! This was done by Rebbecca Wolf Interiors and Timbers & Textiles.
Leasa’s bedroom was given wreaths and swags and a silver bed.
Love the furry throw and metallic plaid pillow. Leasa’s chic grasscloth wallpaper looked fab with everything the designers did.
Her powder room was charming with succulents, wrapped soaps and ephemera.

I’m standing by Leasa’s staircase walk out to her yard where a pretty mural by Cameleon Design was painted.
Leasa’s loggia was given the holiday treatment as well.
We also were crazy for her husband’s detached office which has fois bois wallpaper. They added a red bar cart and this deer. Just perfect for a man’s space. This was done by David Stonesifer, a local plein air painter and designer. He envisioned it as an artist’s ‘studio.’ No idea if Leasa’s husband will keep that vibe or not, but it’s very handsome!
The next home on the tour was a Mediterranean built not long ago that really takes advantage of the local lush hills and landscape with amazing views and luxe finishes.
This master bedroom shows the beautiful casement windows and soft colors that made this house so warm and inviting by Barbara D’Ercole Design.
There were many ( yes at least 6!) outdoor patios and terraces. We loved this one off the family’s main room with a two-sided fireplace.
Pretty swags and florals by Bloomsters were used throughout.
The family even had a pool house used for more entertaining and it was decorated in a more exuberant palette than the main home.

This magical melange of color was by Dana Black Design.
Even the bocce ball space at this home had a view and sitting area!
The owners of the last and largest home are world travelers and have lived many places, which showed in the rooms and eclectic feel of this house.
Tucked in the entry were swags, lanterns and gilded pinecones by Barbara’s Floral Design.
No guest would want to leave this bedroom swathed in a winter white Christmas. The holiday vignette was by The Maid’s Quarters in Los Gatos, another wonderful Los Gatos boutique.

The homeowner also had a beautiful blue china collection and a media room with one of my favorite wallpapers, Schumacher’s Ming Dragon. Behind that curved door was another little kitchen for this fun room with more charming wallpaper.
It was a delight to get a peak into these impressive homes and also see what these talented designers did to style them for the holidays.
