Just a few of a billion pictures I took this weekend in Lake Tahoe. I don’t know why, but getting up there always feels so good for the soul. This early fall time is my favorite when it’s less crowded and still warm. Now I can’t wait to get back..If you haven’t been in fall, I highly recommend it.

A day I won’t ever forget. Two things that were so touching were the flowers that were left by people at Windsor Castle for the Queen were used to make this incredible border along The Long Walk to Windsor Castle…, and along that procession was her pony Emma standing at attention. 💗
Beautifully done day by a nation and people who adored her. When I saw her pony it really got to me. I feel grateful to have lived in her Elizabethan era.

I’m so crushed today about the Queen. This treasure was my grandma’s and inside the top of her nightstand. It was a Coronation tin and I am lucky to have it. Grandma adored the queen and they were of the same generation- one of service and doing the right thing. ❤️

I think this whole time she reigned was a New Elizabethan Era of sorts and we were so fortunate to have her so long. I can’t really believe she’s gone and I’m sure there will ever be another like her.
Feeling for the people in the U.K. tonight and so many of us all over the earth for whom she was a symbol of what is good in the world.

What’s your thoughts on army/utility jackets? I always have some version of one on my mudroom hooks it seems. I love the ease and versatility - and instant cool they have.. I still remember in the 80’s when we would get them from the army surplus!
I am working on my Saturday post today and will be sharing some of the best new ones on the weekend blog. Late summer and fall are the perfect seasons for this closet staple we can all use.
