On this post, my summer picks from the wonderful California brand, Frank & Eileen.
Frank & Eileen first came on my radar a few years ago with their cute shirt dresses. I have the Mary shirtdress in denim , and it has been one of the best looking and easiest pieces I own. I know when I grab it, it will look great and if I pack it, I rarely need to do anything, but shake it out and hang it up! I love that.

In springtime, my friend Cindy Hattersley and I decided to post about a white shirtdress, for our monthly Signature Style and Frank & Eileen was our first choice. The Frank & Eileen dress was the one dress that flattered both of us and we are totally different body types. The construction and quality of the clothes and the finishes make these pieces stand out. They also have that California casual feel to them. I adore my white denim Rory dress and have worn it more than anything else in my closet, since our post.

When Frank & Eileen asked if I would collaborate and show some of my summer picks, I was excited. I am always trying to build a better closet with more quality items and these pieces are exactly that. On this blog, California brands have been my focus and Frank & Eileen clothes are made in California!
I also feel great that Frank & Eileen is a B Corp, which means it meets high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability, for its employees and for the environment. In the US it trails only Patagonia, and has the highest impact score for any woman-owned U.S. fashion brand. It is women founded and women led and they are committed to giving ten million in ten years for women entrepreneurships! I love that.
I choose three great looks that I knew I would wear this summer and beyond. These are pieces made to last years.
First up, the Tuscany Linen Set. You know I’ve been writing a lot about the trend of sets this year and F&E has many great sets that make dressing and travel so easy. I saw this in white and thought it would be versatile for summer dinners and for a travel to Hawaii. I can also break it up and wear the pants with a cotton beach sweater or t, and the shirt with shorts and all year long.

I styled my set with these white snake print sandals and a straw bag. I am 5’4 and 135 and this fit me in a perfectly relaxed easy in the small. I also wore it with the shirt out and love that relaxed look.

I was excited to pick one of their many chic sets I’ve been eyeing for a while. I choose the Carmel Set, with a polo style sweatshirt top and pants. I was torn on color, but I wear a lot of white and loved the lighter color for summer. I just adore the fit, which is just the right cut to make it feel comfortable, but still flattering. I also like where the joggers hit me above the ankle. I’ll be taking this to the beach, on a vacation up the coast, and wearing it daily. ( Hopefully to Carmel one weekend too!)

The Rory Dress in Tattered Blue Wash was my other pick. After wearing the white one so very much, I thought I’d love to have another in a fabric I can wear all year and that is slightly more casual.
This light blue came in the softest denim and is just the right weight for summer. This longer length is flattering and easy to style with sneakers to slides.

This is such an easy dress and I took it to the beach the other day with sneakers and a sweater over the shoulder. Later I removed the sweater and changed into a flat sandal and we grabbed dinner!
It’s a no brainer for warm weather dressing. Heading out to do errands and things I just throw it on and go….

I honestly was surprised at the comments I got about them from other women while wearing these cute pieces. Two people asked me at our local bakery asked where I got my travel set! Max was surprised when a woman stopped me on my Santa Cruz walk and said is that Frank & Eileen?

All the pieces I wore and mentioned on this post and a few other pretty ones..
Pop on over to Frank & Eileen to see for yourself their very edited and lovely collection that goes so well with California living! If you have been paring back the closet, and trying to buy less and better, this is a great place to start your journey of collecting quality pieces!
Thanks for stopping by my little corner of California,
Kim

Hi Kim,
I did not get this in my inbox which is odd as l subscribe and then when l went to subscribe again, just in case, l was unsuccessful as there did not seem to be a portal to do that. Sorry maybe wrong vocabulary, computers are not my friends.
Anyway love F and E this summer l have really bought some lovely long term pieces. Just went for the hot pink Eileen which looks like a raspberry color amazing with silver jewelry.
Take care happy summer!
Hi Francesca, Don’t worry this was published just today so you should get it tomorrow in your inbox! I am so sorry for the confusion. Usually I publish in the evening and don’t share it until the next morning.
I’m so glad you like F&E too. I agree the pieces are made to be worn for years and I feel like they aren’t trendy, but have style. I love the hot pink. I was eyeing that myself! Yes love those tones with silver too.
I bet it looks great on you.
Hope you are enjoying summer too! x
I ❤️ all things @frankandeileen! I have several shirts and a couple of dresses. The sets are next on my wish list.
I love the looks you chose!
When you and Cindy featured the white Rory dress, I checked out their website.
I was interested to see that they, along with Eileen Fisher, have a “Preloved” section! There are some nice bargains there.
I have a triple fleece dress, and I must say, at 5’8, that it’s a tiny bit short for me. I wear it, but am pretty aware of how I’m sitting, and bending in it.
Now I’m thinking about a set. Reminds me of a cute outfit I had when my kids were still young.
Hi Kim
You look so great in all things Frank and Eileen! I love that Tuscany travel set and the Rory dress. I now have it in Chambray too. I am hoping to add another Malibu set as I wear mine constantly! Love all these looks!
Love all these looks from Frank and Eileen Kim and you look really chic!
The quality looks excellent too.
The styles seem timeless and they’re definitely outfits I can see you choosing regularly.
I certainly would! lol

Good morning, Kim! Always fun to find your posts in my mailbox … you look so cool and effortlessly chic in these pieces. You and F&E are made for each other. You’ve sold me on the Rory maxi shirt dress … I’m loving the light blue denim. It looks incredibly cool and comfortable and that’s what we need on these hot summer days. I’m all about a set as well … and your Tuscany linen set is exactly right for summer … and summer travel. Also loving F&E’s colorful, stripes. Well, okay … I love everything. xo
Hi Kim,
Your hair looks particularly lovely here with the highlights in front. 😊
In the first pic you are wearing a long necklace that appears to be pearls on a leather cord. I know you shared it previously, and am wondering if it is still available somewhere. Or did you pick it up in Hawaii?
Thanks for another great post!
Cyndi
Cyndi thank you about the hair! I had juts got it done. I can never make it look as good as the hairdresser.
The necklace is from Hawaii, but they have nearly identical ones on Etsy ! This one vendor lets you choose the cord and length and they look like real freshwater baroque pearls like the Hawaiian ones..

You are sweet! Have a good week.
Those all look great and comfortable. Did you find that you wear a size small in all of the pieces? It is nice when sizing is standardized but often not the case these days.
Hi Linda! Yes I was a small in all of these.
Linda I do read the reviews and that is what prompted me to choose small in all these, but other garments may not run the same.. Frank & Eileen is really good about letting all reviews run and the customers share their size and body type which is helpful!
Hi Kim. You are absolutely chic, as always! The sets are so flattering on you. I love your little camp stool with the bamboo legs. Would you mind sharing where you found it?
Thank you Heather.I love these sets too! So the camp chair I have had a long time and I think I may have found it originally at Homegoods! I loved the bamboo legs.
Kim, you look soooooooo good in everything you modeled. The Frank and Eileen clothing line is sensational. YOU are the PERFECT model for them. The laid back but very chic upscale look is so good, and it’s so you.
A side note you look so pretty with your hair up and the picture you are standing in front of is beautiful, it’s serene and tranquil. You can get list in its beauty.
Aw thank You Katherine! You are so kind. I think anyone would look good in these pieces. They just flatter. xo
Kim! As always, I love your blog. 🌷I look forward to reading it as soon as it pops into my email. Today’s question is: What lipstick are you wearing in the photo of you standing by your console table in the F&E white linen pants and top with your straw bag ? Its looks great on you. 🌟 And, I’m hoping it will look as well on me….
Leslie, You are so nice! That is my favorite lipcolor ! It is by Glossier and its’s a matte sheer, but I find it lasts all day and is not dry. The color is ‘Like’ (Note it looks purple on the link, but it’s more of a fuchsia.) I buy two at a time I love it so much. Hate to be out of it.

Hi Kim — I love Frank and Eileen! The two sets you got look great on you. And of course I always love a shirt dress! Thanks to you, I knew that sets are in (remember, I live in a fashion wasteland…). I was just in the Chicago area, and came home with J Crew white linen shorts and a cute popover top to match. I will be stylin’, even if no one here in Maine notices, ha!
Molly, I love their things too… Shirtdresses are so under the radar, but make everyone lookk so pulled together.
Yay for the set! That sounds cute and I am sure you will wear it a lot. You will be the most chic gal in Maine. xo
Thanks for the Frank and Eileen introduction, Kim. Such beautiful things!
Thank you Mary Ann! I love their things too.
