On this post, a coastal walk and cute neighborhood to check out in SF, and the opening of the new Sézane store in Santana Row.
Thank you all who left me notes about my Invisalign braces! I already am getting used to them. Your notes made me feel better about this and I know I am doing the right thing and will be glad later. I really appreciate it.
Have you gotten these Trader Joe’s daffodils? I love that they are $4.99 and come in these beautiful glass jars. They make it feel like spring!

My tulip tree has bloomed and I am loving that too…

The SF Coastal Trail and the Balboa Street neighborhood…
Last weekend we took a walk along the coast in San Francisco with our oldest son, Jackson. It’s a wonderful time of year to explore the city so get out there! We love trying new paths and seeing new neighborhoods. We started by parking on 48th Avenue, where it hits Sutro Heights Avenue, right above a park called Sutro Heights, which is the ruins of the old Sutro mansion and gardens.
I tried to screenshot and mark a small map of the spot where we parked, that overlooked these windmills and the Great Highway. X is where we parked and began the walk which wanders into the ruins of the old Sutro Heights, which was once an old estate and gardens in the 1800’s.

This is such a fascinating area full of history. This is an old postcard. It was open to the public and was above the old Sutro Baths and was a home and extensive formal gardens. There are still ruins of a lookout you can go up to.

You can walk through this whole green space along the ocean and up to the lookout…where you are right over the ocean. If you keep walking north you will hit the ruins of the Sutro Baths, and a nice visitor center with a great vantage point and souvenirs. This page has a great history of this area and the gardens and home that were once here. This is where the Coastal Path begins.

We took a slight detour right off the path, and up to the Fort Miley Trail and behind the SF VA hospital, (actually more by the P in the parking lot), which leads to the back of the Legion of Honor Museum, where we grabbed lunch. Another map of the trail we followed from the Sutro area below.

At the Legion, you needn’t pay museum admission, just say you want to go to the cafe and they give you a sticker. It’s pricey and just okay… In hindsight, we should have eaten already or brought a picnic or maybe just stopped at the museum for a slice of cake and a coffee.
Below the neighborhood at the Sutro Heights park and the view. A lot of the tropical plants remain from the gardens that were here. I loved the homes too.

After lunch, we walked back around towards the beach going from the front of the museum, and caught the Coastal Trail. You walk down through one path of the golf course, but then meet it right in front of the sea, and the views are pretty spectacular.
You can see to the Golden Gate and the Marin Headlands across. This path is flat and easy and if you go right you can continue to Baker Beach, but we looped left back to where we parked and stopped at The Land’s End lookout . If you haven’t been, the Sutro Baths are pretty fun to walk through.

Afterwards, we wanted to grab a cookie and cappuccino somewhere, and there is the cute neighborhood of Balboa Street, not more than a mile away, so we drive by to check it out. We just lucked upon this charming neighborhood, we had yet to know of. There was parking and cool young people milling about, and a couple came by on the cutest tandem bike. There is even a vintage movie theater. Playing Rocky Horror and Whatever Happened to Baby Jane of course!
We grabbed treats at Butter Love Bakery, an unassuming, but fantastic bakery! I got a brownie, Max got an everything cookie and Jackson a chocolate croissant. This is a popular bakery and on Friday and Saturday nights 5-9 they do ‘Nite Cookies’ and have special cookies made just for the evenings.

We poked into a teeny flower shop overflowing with buckets of the prettiest and reasonably priced flowers, and then happened on a coffee house/bookstore/live music spot –La Promenade Cafe for a coffee. It looked small, but inside is expanded to a back area with shelves of books and a gal singing. They have great coffee drinks, soups and sandwiches, and baked goods. Jackson loved his London Fog latte.
The front of the cafe was a crowd of plants and cozy booths and spots to sit in a sunny window. It has a huge cork board with notices of auditions for things, poetry readings, and other fun happenings. Couples were sharing wine and bites, as the late afternoon sun streamed through hanging spider plants and ‘Just my Imagination’ floated through. I was enchanted. I was immediately brought back to an old college bookstore/cafe I frequented when I was at San Jose State. If you’re looking to check out a new area, Balboa Street in the Outer Richmond area is worth a stop.

A soirée for the opening of Sézane in Santana Row!

On Wednesday night, I was invited to the opening of a French retailer, Sézane in San Jose at Santana Row. I love this brand and was excited they are now in my hometown! If you aren’t familiar, think French J.Crew, but with a nicer quality and a small curated collection of beautiful reinterpreted classics with a French flair.

They are known for their cardigans, shoes, jackets, and pretty blouses. I’m slowly collecting things to add to my closet and appreciating how well made they are. The quality is excellent for the price point. I like that they have a small collection of great pieces that they seem to change up seasonally.
Can we talk about how PRETTY this store is? This is a pop-up that will be here until at least next January. Let’s hope they decide to stay! It is located near the front of Santana Row.

I was impressed with the beauty of the boutique. They have a wall of sweaters, and a lovely layout that makes it easy to pull a look together. The shoe area is quite nice as is the collection of bags and jewelry. They even have charming note books, pens, and scarves at checkout. I am wearing the Betty Sweater that I’ve been wearing nonstop since I got it, and it also comes in this two-tone above and other pretty colors.

The store had a lovely spread and bubbly drinks. They also had a florist there with overflowing buckets of beautiful flowers, where we could choose stems and they made a bouquet for you. We also got a cardigan, and an adorable green tote bag custom made for this store opening. ( I think they might still be giving these out.) I loved chatting with the ladies there and met a few young nice influencers.

I hope you get to check out this store if you are in the Bay Area (also one in SF and one in Santa Monica at the Brentwood Mart.)
A few of my Sézane favorites that I own and are on my wish list now…

These slides and sweater were the last pieces I ordered. I knew I’d love the suede slides and they are so comfy. The sweater is lovely on it’s own or layered! It’s perfect for right now in California. I love it in leopard too..

I also adore this jacket a stylish gal had on, this bucket bag (many colors) and these sandals which also come in cool patent navy.

Democracy or the threads of it…
How are you all doing? I was crushed all week hearing of the wonderful USAID programs and people, that promote democracy, protect us from diseases in the third world, and help so many truly starving, and also receiving HIV treatment, – all now gone like they don’t matter.
Friday’s meeting where Trump and Vance ambushed Zelensky was enraging, embarrassing, and wholly humiliating to this brave man. Besides the yelling at him like thugs, we now know without a doubt, that they are both in Putin’s pocket. There is no pretense that we are fully on board with Russia wants and North Korea too. We have abandoned our European allies, and we lied about how the war was started. We all know Russia was the aggressor and this wasn’t the first time.
Imagine if FDR had asked Churchill for a piece of the UK in order for us to help? We are now operating with two used car salesmen and hustlers at the helm, looking for a deal at every turn, and leaving our values -and allies that have had our backs for decades, in the gutter. All for the praise of the biggest thug of them all, Putin, and who knows what else.
Help me understand what we are to do now? I was glad on Friday to see most of the world’s leaders put out statements supporting Zelensky and condemning how he was treated. I know the good people of the world stand with us and against tyranny and mowing down democracies.
Let’s keep pushing back, and take every opportunity to show up and speak out against this. Thank you so much for this community and your comments. I treasure your wisdom and support so much.
Guys, Patricia below in comments suggested we donate to Hope for Ukraine, and I just checked it out through Charity Navigator and it has the highest rating and helps Ukrainians whose lives have been upended by this war. The more we can help Ukraine right now, the better. Wouldn’t it be amazing if Americans gave the most after this meeting yesterday? DONATE and read more about this 501c charity here.
If you missed last weekend’s post, I shared some beautiful table top options now at Sur la Table and Pottery Barn, sofa talk and changing up my main room, a bag on my radar, Cal Academy plant digitizing contest, and more.
Take care of yourselves,
Kim

I admire your speaking out about what is happening in this country. Your description of our president and vice president was on target. Thanks for your bravery in addressing these issues.
Thank you so much Patsy! Sending you hugs.
Kim, your coastal walk looks so lovely, especially since I am watching the snow fall all morning. But that is beautiful also. Pining for spring and daffodils right now. Thank you for speaking out about what is happening in our country. I am ashamed and disgusted by the behavior of Trump and Vance toward Zelensky, a brave and honorable man. The US should not be taking Ukraine’s rare earth minerals. It is a form of blackmail. We must continue to voice our opposition though I feel powerless. Shocking that so many support Trump’s agenda. Thank you for being a light in the dark.
Catherine, Thanks we are so lucky to have SF nearby! I know I can’t wait for spring. This has been a long, dark winter.
Totally agree the U.S. should not be taking Ukraine’s minerals. I hate that Trump always has to feel he is getting something instead of doing what is right for humanity. It is blackmail! It is sad that so many think a deal needs to be cut with the nation that started the war
Appreciate your thoughts here. xo
I live in South Carolina and did not vote for Trump and never have. I am also embarrassed by our actions and because I live here I must keep my mouth shut. Thanks for letting me at least claim that I am with you!!
I need to know if sizes run true on the sweater. I would have to order and send back if it didn’t fit.
Thanks for the great posts that you do.
Linda
Hi Linda, I am sorry that has to be hard living in a place where this man is tolerated and supported. I am so glad you are here!
I bought the sweater in a medium and I am 138 pounds and 5’4 and it was perfect in sleeves and shoulders and with room for a layer if you want. I was happy with how it felt on – not tight or snug. It lays beautifully as the material is very nice. I hope that helps.
Sending you hugs. You are not alone. xo
We can’t be afraid to speak up! No matter where we live. That’s what they count on…fear. Like the hummingbirds carrying water to a forest fire…doing our part. However small.
Shaoron, You are so right. Thank you we all have to come together and push back in our own small way. xo
Thank you for posting about another one of your SF area walks. You write so well that is almost like being there for those of us who can’t be. Would love something from a bakery named Butter Love with my morning coffee.
Also, thank you so much for posting about the horrifying trump/vance ambush. Praying for delivery from this latest nightmare. Every day there is another blow to democracy and our well-being.
Aw Carol, Thank you! That bakery is so good.
I know thank you. It’s so scary for our nation now and our democracy. I don’t know how all aren’t speaking up right now.
xo
My family and I used to love that walk! Great memories!
So fun about Sezane.
Thanks Mary Ann, It’s a great walk! You were so lucky to live in SF. Miss you. xo
I love your post; you make it so exciting.
Take care
Liillian
Lillian, Thank you and Take care.. xo
Kim, I am so jealous of the shopping opportunities you have around you. Enjoy! I, too, am horrified by what happened at the WH yesterday. It’s an outrage. When will Congress wake up? Kudos to Zelenskyy for standing up to them. Also, to all the other world leaders who continue to back Ukraine. I’m ashamed to be an American.
Susan, I know we seem to be getting a lot of good things, after not ever being a shopping destination! It is fun to get to see new retailers.
Wasn’t yesterday disgusting? I have HUGE respect for Zelensky. It was great to see the rest of the world support Ukraine last night.
Thank you for continuing to comment on US/world events. I appreciate and share your disgust with the President’s treatment of Zelensky. What is happening to our country? Have we lost our minds? I am deeply troubled about the next 4 years. It is hard to imagine where we will end up after the wrecking ball that is Trump/Musk is through.
Hi Anne, Thank you too for your support here. I agree it’s hard to watch and I feel desperate and worried for what ruins will be left of our once beautiful democracy.
Kim A fairly new subscriber here: thank you for your post and I think fondly of the year I spent stationed in San Francisco on Treasure Island and working at the Oakland Navy Hospital which is no longer. I love fresh flowers! and Suzanne looks wonderful. We do not have them here in San Diego but I will see about on line. Your comments about the current milieu in Washington are in my opinion spot on. It is degrading and horrifying to live with what is going on and each day another removal of democracy bit by bit here. What on earth can be done with both branches of Congress and the Supreme Court leaning severe right and rewarding autocratic concepts. This is not balanced, fair, or just. Thank you, Donnie
Hi Donnie! SO glad to have you here. Wow what an amazing experience working at Treasure Island must have been. Thank you for that service!
Sezane is great and I hope you get one in SD!
I totally agree it is horrifying as an American and you feel helpless. I think donating money to Ukraine now, and staying loud and pushing back on this horrible sort of bullying is what we can do. Let’s hope a Republican grows a spine and stands up to this and starts a domino effect. xo
Thank you, Kim, for your beautiful posts. They brighten my day, and I love your description of the Balboa Street area. What a beautiful walk.
My Dad was on his ship in Pearl Harbor when it was bombed on December 7, 1941. He was quite a young man at the time. He never talked about it when I was growing up, but I learned later what he went through, along with many others. Putting current events into perspective, I guess this is kind of our “Pearl Harbor” moment, when we realize that we must stand up to what is happening in our country, resist in whatever ways we can, and not “submit in advance,” as AOC says. The current occupant of the White House has and will cause harm, but his influence will not last forever. I truly believe that love, truth, and kindness will prevail. Let’s continue to find beauty and peace in this life wherever we can. They cannot take that from us.
Lisa, Thank you for sharing about your dad. So grateful to his generation and all who served then- and now.
You are so right this is one of those kind of moments. AOC is right too. I need a shirt that says that!
I also believe the truth and goodness will win in the end. I agree let’s keep finding beauty while we care. xo
I made a donation to Hope for Ukraine (got the name from Charity Navigator).
Thank you Patricia. I am going to add it to this post and share on Instagram. Great idea.
I agree it was an embarrassing sad day. But we did not buy a thing. On we protest. Thank you for fashion and lovely walk and political comment.
Cristi Bravo for doing that! xo
We, too, participated in the February 28th economic blackout. Baby steps to be sure, but every little thing we can do to preserve our democracy, and call out the Trump administration and the large corporations who align themselves with Trump’s policies, is a move in the right (correct) direction. I suggest reading Timothy Snyder’s “On Tyranny” to understand the moment we are living in. ” ‘On Tyranny’ is a call to arms and a guide to resistance, with invaluable ideas for how we can preserve our freedoms in the uncertain years to come.” In case you haven’t heard of him, Timothy Snyder is the Richard C. Levin Professor of History at Yale University and a permanent fellow at the Institute for Human Sciences in Vienna.
Maureen, Good on you for doing the blackout! We did too. I agree anything we can do to push back and show we have a voice and power is huge now and will motivate others to join us.
I have ‘On Tyranny’ on my book list and will try and read that next! Thank you for sharing his book again. A great reminder. xo
Lovely post I look forward to this every Saturday. Thank you. And thank you for continuing to call out this administration. It feels like pure evil. Donated to Hope for Ukraine and to Zelensky’s official site as well. I hope they see a surge of American support. Even wrote a comment to the White House I was so embarassed.
Then went and had ice cream with my three year old granddaughter. It’s the best antidote to crazy.
Hi Leila, Wow thank you and thank you for giving to help them! I will link to more of them next week. I agree with calling the White House and leaving comments. We have to let the public know how we feel and it helps start a movement. Yay for ice cream and grands. Sending you hugs
Kim,
What a week. In spite of all the horrible things happening daily, yesterday was really something. Thank you for continuing to talk about. I’m out of more words right now.
Michelle, Agree. Shocking and sad. Take care.xo
Hi Kim,
It was totally shocking what we all witnessed in the Oval Office yesterday;the bullying patronising behaviour from the Vice-President J.D.Vance and the domineering, avaricious and inhumane reasoning from President Trump. How can you compare a possible international ‘end of war treaty’ to a game of cards? I am shocked and incredibly saddened that America is now so aligned to Putin and just callously thinking about mineral rights. It felt like a trap in the Oval Office and smelled like a planned attack from the two red tied hencemen. That President Zelensky, an elected head of state, was treated so appallingly illustrates the crassness and ugliness of this new world order in The White House.
Yesterday was a clear indication of the seriousness of where the Trump Administration is going; against its allies in The United Nations, in opposition to its past democratic leadership position on the world stage. It is disgraceful and also very sobering how quiet the opposition to Trump is right now. This is not normal.
Thank you for your blog Kim. Thank you for letting us speak. I look forward to it every week. I was going to comment on the instagram pro Ukraine post you sent yesterday but then got slightly paranoid wondering if the ‘likes ‘would be tracked for policial bullying reasons. I read yesterday a reason why the the elected Republicans are being so quiet: to go against Trump is career suicide and many are concerned they would have to hire private security to protect their families from the fallout from the vigilantes and MAGA supporters, so for economic and career reasons they stay silent. Is this the America we want….
Francesca, Thank you- so well said. Trump calling it cards reveals what he is, a clueless privileged jerk who doesn’t have a clue how diplomacy works. Neither he nor Vance, have a care about what this man and his nation have been through.
You are spot on that it is sobering a a HUGE wake up call to Americans about who we are now aligned with and it isn’t the good guys. Anyone who is not upset about this is delusional.
As far as social media, who knows, we could all be tracked on all of it, and I suppose I’ll be the first rounded up. I know the Republicans who spoke out were threatened. Imagine that is your party. Mind blowing. If Republicans would get together and have a united front against Trump they would have some safety in numbers, but the sad thing is they are themselves the problem. It is a mess.
Thank you so much for my new weekly pick me up. It’s helping me through the DC winter and our new dystopian world.
Also, just realized Sezane has a pop-up in Georgetown- love your looks and style there. Still missing CA!
Sierra, thank you so much. It does feel dystopian doesn’t it? Oh you have to check out the Georgetown pop-up!
Sending hugs from Cal. xo
Hi Kim,
The coastal fog hovering over the walk with your guys is so gorgeous. And, the fun of choosing your “own” cookie to dunk in your coffee sounded delightfully fun. It reminded me that being in nature during this horrendous time in our country politic will benefit us in innumerable ways. May all of us be inspired to find our own walking places so that we will be renewed and ready to act in ways that stand against authoritarianism.
Thanking you for your transparency,
Love, Diney on Mercer Island,
Hi Diney! The fog always feels so magical there! I loved the bakeshop.
You are so right, nature is healing us now. Thankful for all of it and the little signs that the renewal of spring brings.
Thank you for your beautiful words here. Love it so much. We need the strength for this fight.
Hugs.
Hi Kim,
No, I haven’t gotten the Trader Joe’s daffodils.
They look pretty in your window sill. Your Tulip tree is gorgeous.
I so enjoyed you sharing the SF Coastal trail, what a beautiful trail to enjoy and the Balboa Street neighborhood is charming. Of course it brought smiles, but also made me homesick for the unique charm and character and laid back vibe of SF. My old boyfriends mom of many years ago that had traveled all over the world said once to me, “that SF was the most romantic and most beautiful city in the world, that included Marin County too.” She was like “another mother to me.”
I miss her, she is in heaven.
Sezane’s pop up store looks fabulous. The way they merchandise is super smart. Their opening and everything they did was A+, even down to picking the flowers you wanted. I wish them total success.
USAID – the program and people gone, yet just another cold-hearted mean act of the lean and mean approach of this ruthless person. The employees were treated with no respect. Given 15 minutes to pack up and get out. 🤷♀️ So BAD.
Fridays meeting with the 34 Felon and his sidekick was all orchestrated and planed out
well ahead of time. The attack was no surprise. I’ve always felt that the Felon is in Putin’s camp (the war criminal) after all the Felon called Putin his friend and Vance both sickens me to my core. Our democracy is a huge concern.
Zelensky has been fighting this war for three years, and without prior political experience. He is a HERO-and a true professional. To be treated by two gangsters as you said speaks volumes of these despicable creeps.
Kim, I don’t know what else we can do except support Ukraine as much as we individually can and to make sure Zelensky knows we do not support such behavior.
I have to never give up HOPE otherwise we slip into a bad place. It’s so important to look for the sunshine each and everyday. We have plenty of that in AZ.
Katherine, I love hearing about your boyfriend’s mom. What a lovely person she must have been! I love people like that when you are young. They really make an impression on you don’t they? I agree SF is so romantic!
I agree Sezane knows how to open a store and do business. I hope they succeed here.
I am with you about all you said and think helping Ukraine now is the best we can do here and be loud about the thug behavior of the White House.
We have to hope this is about to turn the tide. Americans see whose side Trump and Vance are on. We aren’t as clueless as they think.
Enjoy the sun. I hope you guys are feeling better! xo
You have such great shopping in San Jose. Sezanne looks like so much fun. I have got to get up there and check things out! You guys are so good about exploring SF. I have never been on that trail!
Cindy it’s a beautiful store! You need a trip to SF!
You are a Champion for always speaking out. I can not believe the Republicans have remained silent. Disgraceful. Australia stands with 🇺🇦.
Rita I am so sad about this. Republicans are a hige disappointment, but a few are speaking up and their constituents are getting loud and pushing back- so I hope we start to see some resistance! xo
Kim,
I love learning more about your area. Your walks and your descriptions make it always seem so lovely. I also like that you give honest opinions about the places that you stumble upon for snacks, food, etc. So helpful for anyone that goes to the places that you suggest.
Sezanne is one of my favorite stores, and it looks like you had an amazing visit. I am curious if you have noticed a difference in their quality? I personally have not but I have read several reviews from fashion bloggers that have said the quality, specifically of the shoes and bags is not the same that it was 2-3 years ago? Again, I do not own the bags or shoes but I am curious.
I hope that you have an amazing weekend Kim!
xo
Elizabeth, I am so happy to share what a beautiful area this is and as a lifelong Californian, I am still discovering more!
So I have never shopped at Sezane before this year, and so far, the two pairs of shoes I have are as nice as my Stuart Weitzman pairs, so I think they are pretty nice! I was very pleased with the sweaters too- and the necklaces. xo
Hi Kim
I am so grateful that you use your platform to speak out. I am Canadian and we watch in horror and despair as we watch Trump threaten our Sovereignty as a nation. It is easy to get angry with Americans for voting for this administration and to hear your outrage is a comfort that some feel differently. I fear there will be lasting damage done to the relationship between our countries. It is just so upsetting.
I love your blog.
Hi Jillian, I apologize for out nation, and our fools at the top.
It’s awful to see how Trump has treated our allies and bullied Canada, which has been so good to us.
I’m angry with Americans too, so I totally get it! We should never have even been here after what this man did on Jan 6th.
I have to say I take comfort in the fact that less than 1/3 of all voting eligible Americans voted for him. (Also mad than 90 million did not vote at all.)
I fear the same and as an American I get people not wanting to travel here – or buy American, and I am scared to travel abroad too. I have to say I’m a Californian!
Thank you so much for taking the time and commenting and reading the blog! xo
Hi Kim
Love your pictures of the San Francisco area, my husband and I have spent a lot of time in San Francisco as our son and daughter in law lived there for several years, they are now back in Sydney. Thank you for speaking up about what is happening in American politics. I am not sure if you are aware that North Korea has sent thousands of troops to support Russia. So sad for the USA at the moment, some of my happiest memories are the holidays we have enjoyed in your beautiful country
Hi Di! Isn’t is a beautiful place in the world? How wonderful you got to visit a lot while they were here.
Yes I know about the North Korea troops in Ukraine. It’s sad to know we are now on the side of Russia and N. Korea instead of our longtime allies.
It’s embarrassing and horrifying. What is happening to our Democracy?
I am so sorry for you, you have what could be a nice web site but you have to let everyone know how liberal you are.
No-one cares, the people voted and did not want you way of life!!!
Beverly, I am proud of being a liberal, especially if that means supporting our long time allies, and not being on the side of Putin and North Korea.
How do you see what Trump and Vance did humiliating Zelensky as a good thing? Perhaps one of the lowest points for our nation ever.
By the way, less than 1/3 of all Americans who could vote, actually voted for Trump, so no, it is not most Americans.
Excellent response, Kim. So proud of you — and proud to be a long-time reader and fellow Californian!
The daffodils at Trader Joe are such a good price with a vase.
Totally agree with your position on Trump and Vance—two bullies without the knowledge of being a statesman. So disgusting and shameful. But we need to stay vocal and active in any way we can and oppose the actions of this administration. Don’t understand how republicans in Congress are so silent, what fear they have…
Always enjoy reading of your outings in the Bay Area.
I have been to Sezane on Fillmore Street. From your description the shop at Santana Row appears larger.
Take care.
Sheila aren’t they a deal? Thankful for Trader Joe’s and their little bits of happy right now.
You are spot on about no talent for diplomacy and worse -cruel to a nation we promised to protect when they gave up their nuclear weapons in the 90’s.
I also cannot understand how Republicans are okay with all this. I know they are hearing it from their constituents big time and maybe that is what it will take to finally get spines.
I have to check out the Sézane in San Francisco. I do think the one here is pretty large!
Hugs to you.
Hi, Kim —
The San Francisco trail walk looks amazing. What a beautiful place to discover! You do a great job with your photographs.
I agree with Sheila that we need to continue to stand up and speak out. The bullies are trying to overwhelm Americans with too much activity at once, so some actions sneak through. Bannon refers to it as “muzzle velocity”, according to an Ezra Klein podcast (highly recommend Mr. Klein!).
Yesterday, my husband and I went to a town hall with our new congresswoman. There were so many people at the high school auditorium that the large parking lots were full, as was the parking lot of the church across the street. The bleachers were packed with people of all ages. I feel so fortunate to live in a blue state! The congresswoman couldn’t get into partisan politics as she represents all constituents, but she did say to keep contacting your representatives to let them know how you feel, and keep showing up at events. I googled this morning and found there is a protest near a Tesla dealership tomorrow for evening rush hour, as well as rallies next Saturday for International Women’s Day.
I was stunned by the rudeness of trump and vance to President Zelensky. That is not diplomacy or strength. I’m sending a donation to Hope for Ukraine. Thank you for providing the link! And thank you for continuing to share this important information. I admire your badass-ness! xo
Julia, I saw that Bannon clip and you are right, we need to stay aware of all that is coming down, while they distract us with plastic straws and the like.
Good for you guys going to this town hall. We all need to keep showing up at these. I love that you found a Tesla one too. We have to get to these! I have yet to see much about International Women’s Day here- still looking.
Thank you it’s sickening what happened in our own oval office. Trump and Vance are tools.
Aw thanks I am just trying to fight back for our democracy. We are donating too. xo
Hi Kim — You have so many beautiful areas to walk near you! I just discovered Sezane last fall, and I love their things. Lucky you to have a shop nearby. I so wish we had a Trader Joe’s nearby too. I picked up those daffodils when I was down in Portland (the only TJ’s in all of Maine) a while back. They were so lovely! Trying hard to keep a positive attitude, but last week was tough. Thanks for your weekly posts!
Molly, Love them! I would really miss TJs if we didn’t have one.
Hang in there Molly, we may be coming to a tipping point as the whole world seems to have united behind Zelensky yesterday. People are marching and protesting..
Sending hugs.
I enjoyed all of the lovely photos.
Thank you Linda. xo
