It’s time for thee weekend meander with Elizabeth and Juliet!
Hi dear friends this is a short post today. I have had a crazy week with the fun Ba&sh event at Bloomingdales, a dress post yesterday and now I am in Tahoe.
Dresses
I hope you’ll pop by and check out the summer dress posts Cindy and I pulled together. We tried to share some cute options and dressing ideas for your summer events and travels. I will add to my post as I spot good looks as we move into summer. You can find mine here and Cindy’s here. She and her daughter are great models.

Tahoe
Speaking of summer, why in the why is Memorial Day so early this year? We popped up here to check on the little cabin as it’s been neglected of late. We had a busy spring and Max came up to ski a few times, but I guess I hadn’t been since Christmas as the nutcrackers were still out!
I have that a few million cobwebs to attend to, but I hope to do a new hike up here I can share next week! Just being here feels so good for the soul. Our daffodil bulbs that we planted late last fall, have bloomed and what a sweet welcome site…

We checked out our meadow at Ward Creek. Wildflowers are starting to bloom all over and the tadpoles are out.

More on Tahoe next week!
My Ba&sh event
Summer is upon us and travels. I talked to a lot of ladies at our Ba&sh event and online and people need dresses for it all. The Ba&sh shopping event was a lot of dress try-ons.
Leslie got the Style Studio festive for the event with flowers, drinks and nibbles…

Everyone was really sweet about trying things and letting me snap photos of these lovely clothes.
Heidi in the cute Erry dress (on sale now), and Aimee tried one of my favorite dresses- the pretty Alia dress, and Khyati in a gorgeous gown (similar here this is sold out) she will wear to an upcoming wedding.

There was a lot of laughs and we all tried on the very French Elsy sweater – Heidi showing it with a low back and sparkly silver buttons… Surprisingly it did not show the bras and was good one everyone.. Elaine tried creme as well for us with silky cargo pants I loved on her.

A creme embroidered dress, the Amy dress in black (also green) and the Valley dress, my favorite.

Leslie and I twinning. She had the matching pant and top in this cool fabric that feels so good on.

Heidi won the raffle ! Thank you to everyone who came.. I didn’t get photos of everyone, but I wanted to! You are all the best models. Thank you for letting me share you pictures.
I love this Bloomingdales at Valley Fair. They make shopping a lot of fun and are committed to bringing unique fashion in store. I am always discovering something new there.

The Ba&sh Collection at Bloomingdale’s can be found here and some is on sale now too. A lot of it is not online, so if you saw a piece you liked here, or on last week’s preview post, that isn’t on the website, contact Leslie who will find it in store for you and hold it, or ship it! Contact her by calling or texting Leslie at 347-861-2757.
Democracy
Thanks to you all last week for the great comments on the state of things- and the responses to Marie. If nothing else, these times have shown me how very many of us feel the same about the values of this nation, and the care of our fellow man. It gives me hope and keeps me going.
This week was maybe one of the lowest yet with this administration. The acceptance of the jet from Qatar that needs a billion dollars to upgrade, the crypto dinner for ‘customers’ of his coin, was depressing. Mostly I believe we are a nation of people who care and this will in time be corrected, but times like this week, I lose faith.
This poem being reshared from 2020, read by Bruce Springsteen urges us to all look at what is happening. This presidency is not what America is. We have lost much more than we know.
On this Memorial Weekend, I think about what has been given up for us, the lives and the sacrifices, and it was not for the America we are now living in.
I hope your weekend is peaceful and lovely,
Kim

Beautiful outfits. Lets not forget the appalling behaviour towards the president of South Africa. We could not believe when he pulled out the papers, my son said “My God, he went prepared “. And then he dragged our country into it! He has no idea of diplomacy or manners.
Rita thank you… I meant to mention that. THE worst and the full on lies. I was appreciating how other nations news networks were calling out the lies. Our own news have been not nearly as straight up about the lies and calling them out- rather saying things like ‘alleged.’
He has zero manners and I wish other heads of state would just stop visiting him and his thugs in the oval office.
Kim-
Every one of those dresses are inspiring. What a fun event! Clearly, world leaders need to start refusing WH invitations. How outrageous to invite a leader just for the purposes of insulting them, live on camera. DJT is an international embarrassment for America. Congress, where are you?!
Gorgeous dresses Kim thanks for sharing! Congratulations on the event! In complete agreement about DJT the narcissist. Love the Tahoe visit and daffodils. Happy week!
I wish I could have gone to your event–it looks like you had such a great time! Truth be told, I rarely buy or wear dresses because they don’t suit tomboyish me. But they look GREAT on you! I have to say I feel so disheartened by the politics in Washington DC. I can’t believe Trump was voted in *twice*! I’m embarrassed to be an American right now. Last night my husband and I watched All the King’s Men on TCM and though made in 1949 (I think), it was very prescient. Thank you for your blog–it helps to hold me together.
Sally, I wish you could have too!
I know it boggles the mind we are here again with this guy- but even worse.
Ooh I will look for that film!
Aw thank you so much and for your comments.
I am grateful for everyone’s commiseration here. It helps me too!
Looks like you had a great Ba&sh event! Wish I lived close by. Yes to the Valley dress, it looks great on you!
I agree this week was one of the worst. The plane, passing the bad, ugly bill and the crypto dinner. What about these poor people living with the devastation of those recent tornadoes? Trump could care less. Shameful. Makes me wonder if he ever has donated a dime in his miserable life. The whole Trump family is pathetic. Sometimes it feels like we will never be rid of them.
Glad you could get away to Tahoe. How nice to have a respite a few hours away. My sister lives in Boise and has some friend connections that allow them free cabin/lodging up in McCall at Payette Lake. She and her husband also are rafting enthusiasts and finally bought a lot in Donnelly so they could keep a trailer there. It saves them the hassle of driving home a few hours after a long day of rafting.
Enjoy your weekend!
Linda
Hi Kim,
Don’t get me started on all the awfulness that is our administration right now. I could go on and on. Hope to participate in”No Kings Day” protest on June 14, the same day as DJT’s wasteful parade. Anyway…Memorial day is the time to remember the sacrifices of others, which allow me to voice my opinion about all this, without fear of reprisals. That’s a constitutional guarantee!
The BA&SH event was a lot of fun and I can’t believe I was a winner, I never win a raffle or drawing! All that pretty clothes, yummy treats and the best hostesses! Thanks for including me.
Enjoy the peace in the mountains. That wonderful fresh air – mmmm.
Xo Heidi
Heidi I plan to be there and share it this next week on the blog.
I’m so glad you came to the event! xo
Aw thank Linda! I love that dress so much.
Well, I guess he told the folks in one area no more FEMA money…but there is money for his parade! Unbelievable. He has no shame and his whole family is the same.
Your sister sounds like she has a great deal! xo
Loved your last two posts! Dresses yesterday were great inspiration, and I love the prints that Ba&sh has. At 5’8” sometimes the mini’s are too mini, so I like to try them on. I also need bra friendly straps if I’m going sleeveless!
My sisters and I are getting together this week to plan on going to the No Kings Day protest near us. It’s on 6/14. Here is the info:
https://indivisible.org/statements/indivisible-and-partners-announce-no-kings-nationwide-day-defiance-flag-day-during
It’s during the big military parade to celebrate DT’s birthday. We’re all paying for it! It’s supposed to cost up to 45 million! I’d rather feed kids free lunches!
We prefer to peacefully gather, and use our right to free speech. There are
Whoops, meant to finish my comment to say: There are many locations planned. Some large, some small. You can find one close to you on the website.
Hi Lisa and thanks so much! I hear you and these minis weren’t too short, but I only tried the ones I showed last week.
Thank you so much for sharing the protest. I am adding it to the next blog! I agree and this is a colossal waste of money that could help people.
Hi Kim,
The ba&sh dresses really suit you! Looks like we all missed a fun time at your event! I live in San Jose and now I’m kicking myself that I didn’t join you. Maybe, next time. 🙂
Also, thank you for continuing to shine a light on the current state of our country. This week, I especially appreciate your inclusion of the Bruce Springsteen video (from 5 years ago, no less) that is as timely today as it was then. I literally broke down in tears when he said “we are rudderless and joyless” with DJT in the White House. Bruce’s speech to his Manchester concert audience was equally eloquent, and now the Orange One is attacking him online. When I took civics in high school, I never imagined this would be a priority for an American president!
I am thankful, though, to be a part of this online community and hear similar concerns, and I am optimistic that we can hold-on until the 2026 mid-terms and vote for a change in Congress. Hopefully, they will then stand up for the American people and, especially, the underserved — both here and abroad!
Maureen I hope you’ll come by the next time. It was fun and it would be nice to meet.
I felt the same about Bruce’s words. Trump’s priorities clearly are not America or us.
Hoping the mid-terms bring change too.
The dresses are very cute.
What is happening to our country is appalling, gut retching and disgusting.
On Memorial Day we will celebrate veteran’s service at the local veteran’s hall. We will be celebrating my 99 year old father-in-law who served in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. He is devastated by this administration and what it’s doing to the country he fought for.
While right now it seems there is little we can do to actually change what is happening now, it’s our duty to men like my father-in-law that we continue to protest and work to be ready to change the house and senate as soon as we can.
Thank you for links to groups, and events of protest.
Cristi,Thank you for sharing about your 99 year old FIL!!
Will you please thank him? Wow.
I could not agree more that we need to protest in order to honor all they have fought for!
Hi Kim,
Your pretty Tahoe daffodils brightened my day! Enjoy your time there with some R & R. Thank goodness for Bruce speaking his mind during his concert, got to love that man. When it appears that things can’t get any worse with DT and cohorts, the next day’s news story Trump’s it…no pun intended. I am flying the flag on Memorial Day for my dad and uncles who knew what they were fighting for, and I am so thankful that they did not live to see who was voted to “lead” our country . Xo
Thanks Karen. Aren’t they the happiest?
Thank you to your dad, and uncles. I hope we can change the course of things and honor them and their sacrifices. xo
Kim,
I love your dress post! And Cindys’ too! I love dresses.
I hope that you enjoy your time in Tahoe, it look like beautiful weather. Love your daffodils.
Your event looks amazing. I am sure that all of the ladies that attended had a great time being styled by you! You have wonderful taste.
Have a happy and safe weekend.
xo
Thanks so much Elizabeth! It was beautiful there. xo
Kim! Everyday it just keeps getting worse! You think it can’t possibly, and then he does something else that’s just cruel.
But looking to the bright side… love you print dress from b&sh and daffodils are in bloom at the cabin! Can’t wait to see where you new hike takes you!
Xx
Annie doesn’t it? I don’t know how we will survive four years.. Thanks about the dresses! xo
Your event looks like it was so much fun, Kim, and I hope you are taking in the serenity of Tahoe. It looks beautiful. The video from Bruce Springsteen brought me nearly to tears. It’s so starkly true that the joy has gone from the White House, and this soulless family models nothing for anyone to emulate or be proud of. It is embarrassing right now to be an American citizen. Nonetheless, we will keep going, and I believe that this will one day be over, and we can start to re-build what this selfish man has torn up. This community is inspiring, thank you for leading it. I’ll be thinking of my Dad on Memorial Day, who fought as a very young man in WW II, and I know that this is certainly not what he fought for.
Thank you so much Lisa. I know his video really hit me that we are missing so much of that wonderful normal First family joy and pride that we always had.
Thinking of you – and grateful for your dad! Hugs to you.
Kim! I’m so glad you escaped to Tahoe … everything is so pretty there this time of year (well … all times of year) and it’s nice to have a little escape. Looking forward to more next weekend. Wish I could have been at your BASH event. You and Leslie twinning is the best! So many lovely pieces and everyone looks amazing in everything. I can’t even deal with the awfulness of what’s happening … and the jet is a new low. Although I shouldn’t say that because every week is a new low … how much lower can we go? I’m afraid to ask. Oof. Well, on a happier note, enjoy the rest of your holiday weekend in beautiful Tahoe. xo
I know Juliet…UGh. Thank you I wish you could have gone too. x
