On February’s Signature Style, some of the best new sneakers and stylish classics that should be on your radar.
I’m all about less and better these days. Everyday sneakers seem to last me years. I am currently looking for another pair to mix into my regular rotation. I’ve worn my European trip sneakers to bits, and while they are holding up, I am a little bored. I’m wanting something white and also something with a little color.. In these colder months, sneakers are my go-to. I really like being comfortable and luckily we have so many good choices now.
I have done a bit of research and these are some on my radar now…Links should be in most photos and at the bottom of the post too.
Fresh whites

Nothing looks as good as a clean pair of white trainers and I love a pair that’s not too stiff or heavy. I’ll wear them with everything including dresses, so they have to be not too clunky, yet have comfort…
I just am seeing these new light Nikes with ventilation, a great choice for summer or travel to warmer climates. I also like these Reebok Club 85 with a retro feel and a cute terry cloth trim on the edge. These are highly rated, but go up a half size (always read the ratings for sizing tips.) Feels like the shoes I wore in my college days at SJSU -minus the velcro.

The white by Puma below is also nice and streamlined. So is this by Vince and this with velcro is also cute.

A bit of color
If you want something with a pop of color, I hear you. I have pink Pumas and they get so many compliments. I don’t really worry if they match too much with what I wear. A shoe with color adds a bit of flair to your look, and some style.

I’ve been wanting a pair of these Isabel Marant sneakers ever since I saw a lot of women with them in Paris. They are a bit more pricey, but I can justify them over the years of wear. The velcro appeals to my lazy side. These ASICs are close to my Pumas with their low profile. People say they are comfortable, and I think the tan/pink is a semi neutral. Your feet don’t stand out so much in these tones.

The red sneaker is something I saw a lot in Europe. They tend to like a pop of color on the foot. The red Vionics and the Liberty London xAdidas sneaker are nice options.

Neutrals
I love a tan or neutral that works with so many colors and sort of takes the focus off your feet. Mine here are a few years old, but similar below…

I love this Adidas in grey suede, these Golas in tan, and these Dolce Vita (with optional pretty ribbon ties!)

This new ASICS in Oatmeal is a shade I am digging.

A darker shade

Sometimes you want a utilitarian sneaker for travel or to work with a pair of dark slacks. I love these low profile sporty looks that can work with a dress pant, like on Emma Watson above, in Paris. Black trainers and black leggings always look classic too. Darker shoes can be lower maintenance and when you want to pack light, and they can serve multitudes.
This Vince runner is very chic and sporty and comes in a tan as well as black. The Fit Flop slide on with a little height – I keep hearing how much people love these, and the Vionic trainer has some height too.

This navy suede Blondo sneaker would be cute with jeans for a of retro style I also like these pretty Sezane leather trainers. All my Sezane shoes are great quality.

Thank to the popularity of this Prada sneaker, a lot of brown versions popped up this last year. The Puma version is a more affordable option and then there is a Sam Edelman riff that is selling fast too. I’d like to try a pair with white jeans like Dakota Johnson above in British Vogue.

Others that caught my eye…
Love these Golas in a soft blue for spring and summer with the crochet upper. The Puma ballet sneaker is so darn cute!

P448 has some unique styles. They are a bit pricier, but very well made in Italy and they all stand out.. like this blue sneaker, and this silvery cutie. & Monaco slip on. More of their styles here.

These sneakers plus a few others I found all here from my ShopMy page…
If you want more looks using these sneakers go to this post I wrote sharing these outfits and other with these sneakers…

Kim you always get me into trouble!! Those black and white Asics are calling my name! You always find the best loot!!
Kim, What are the sneaks you have on in the picture above? Thanks for all the info!
HI Ginger! Mine are P448s from a few years ago. They have pink soles.
These are similar by them, but with pink laces and a pink sole. https://go.shopmy.us/p-43386050
Also these are similar at the Rack by them.. https://go.shopmy.us/p-43386573
I’ll see if I can find more. This brand is great. xo
I love ❤️ sneakers and now my preferred shoe as they give me adjustable support and still look cool. I have a small collection but always room for another pair. I get so many compliments on my red adidas and a silver pair. But I wear my black Brooks the most. So many to tempt me. And it will be your fault.
Hi Leslie! I agree with you. Oh I love the silver ones too. I love to see the unique ones. Why not add a little sass to our mix?
People love Brooks I hear too. xo
Hi Kim,
You missed your calling, I can see you marketing and selling sneaks at a high end fashion store. Since you have so many and are knowledgeable
about footwear, that is a big part of a persons success. I can only dream and wish I could wear some of these fashionable sneakers. It’s ok I just feel blessed I can walk.
Love the pic of you in your wicker chair all snuggled up in your cute sneaks.
Katherine you are sweet. Maybe it was working in retail all those early years.
I hope you have found some comfortable sneakers…There are many good ones now. Nordstrom and the Walk Shops like Footwear Etc have so many better ones.
Thank you.. I didn’t have many good pics with sneakers. xx
Kim! Love to see the Reebok’s … nostalgia. And the Pumas are really, really good. Great roundup. xo
Thanks Juliet! I am ordering one of those.. Cannot decide which. xo
I noticed that Dakota Johnson is practical enuf to wear some ankle-warming socks with her white jeans! As a current Mid-Westerner, I like to see that!
Love your B& W options, red and light blue pairs, too.
Any tips on cleaning suede toe caps?
Joan I noticed that too- and was influenced! I wore my socks today sticking out.. I hate being cold.
I also noticed in France, no one has bare ankles! So maybe we just need to find cute socks.
Aa far as cleaning Suede have you tried a white/grey looking eraser? I know we used to sell them at Nordstrom in the shoe department. You used to also get them with your Coach purse if it was suede. I think they help! xo
I love your blog. Just to let you know that Nike’s founder Phil Knight is pushing Oregon to turn red….just thought you should know.
Thanks!
Tara, Thank you. Sigh. I did NOT. I appreciate the heads up.
I specifically did not include New Balance sneakers because the owner is a Trump supporter who gave nearly half a million to him in the first election and has supported other conservative candidates.
I am taking the Nike’s off this.
xo
So many cute sneaker options here! The best sneakers I got last year were Tretorns at Costco of all places! They were low profile and I wore them all through Italy. What I liked about them most is that like many sneakers in your post, the profile has a much less rounded toe, which I find better for a wider pant leg. I hang on to things for a while and have shelved sneakers with a rounded toe for now, but I’m sure there will be a time for them to re-emerge.
Tamara, I love Tretorn! They remind me of high school. We wore them for tennis back then. I see them rarely. I am going to search for a few to add to this post. Thank you. Good find at Costco!
By the way, I like a less rounded toe also.
